Aarti Patil, MBBS, is an Assistant Professor of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. As a heart surgeon, her principal focus is mitral valve repair, with additional research and clinical experience in heart transplants. 

Committed to expanding access to quality cardiac care, Dr. Patil serves as the Director of Mount Sinai’s Advanced Heart Failure Support Surgical Outreach Program – a collaborative, multidisciplinary clinic that promotes advanced cardiac care among poor and underserved communities in the New York area, with a special focus on Queens.

She also serves as Associate Director for Mount Sinai’s Mechanical and Circulatory Support Program, providing advanced cardiovascular mechanical support care to appropriate patients throughout the Mount Sinai Health System.

Dr. Patil completed her Integrated Thoracic Surgery Residency at Mount Sinai in June of 2022. Earlier, she spent two years as a Research Observer and Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Center for Transplantation Sciences at Massachusetts General. Dr. Patil is a graduate of Rajiv Gandhi Medical College at the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences in Nashik, India.

As a researcher, Dr. Patil has co-authored papers in the Journal of Thoracic Cardiovascular Surgery, the Journal of Clinical Apheresis, and the Biology of Blood and Marrow Transplantation, among others, and presents regularly at academic medical conferences.

This allows Florida patients who are receiving medical care by telehealth to confirm the provider’s licensure and Florida registration.
